What is the weather like?
GORGEOUS! We strategically chose this time of year and put quite a bit of thought into this date, solely with our guests experience in mind. This is when you want to visit the Florida Keys! Hurricane season has come and gone and the weather is sunny and in the 80s. Not to mention.. you will get to experience Christmas in the Keys, before the true Christmas rush hits.
Where are you staying?
As you start to look for lodging, keep in mind that the Welcome Party will be in Key West and the Wedding Celebration will be in Big Pine Key, a 40 minute drive apart. BETWEEN those two islands are several others such as Little Torch, Summerland Key, Cudjoe, Sugarloaf Key, Big Coppit and Stock Island.
Airbnb and VRBO have all sorts of options in the locations listed above. From boats to houses to boutique hotels. The location of your lodging will depend on the kind of experience YOU want to have. For example, if you want something walkable to restaurants, live music and coffee.. you should stay in Key West. These islands are not big at all. Something a bit more relaxing? Check out a boat on Stock Island or a cottage on Cudjoe. We have various resorts and hotels attached under the TRAVEL tab.
We are so happy to help or discuss with you! We love to plan a good trip.
How are you getting here?
Key West Airport is your top choice! You land and you are here. Small and easy! With that being said, direct flights are limited and have potential to be pricey. Check out what this looks like for your departure location.
Florida Keys Marathon Airport: Small. Mostly accommodating private flights.
Miami International and Fort Lauderdale will be your alternative, economical options. The kicker, is you will have a 2.5-3 hour drive down the Keys into Key West. Is this bad? No, its BEAUTIFUL! A bucket list item for many people. You would need to rent a car or take one of the several bus options. Another option, the Key West Express Ferry out of Ft. Myers.
Don't live too far away? DRIVE! Stop at Robert Is Here on your way down and grab a tropical fruit milkshake! The TURO app is great for local car rentals working directly with the vehicle owner. We use this when we travel.
When should you arrive to town?
Up to you! 12/10 and 12/11 are our only event days. Come as early as your schedule allows and stay for as long as you can! We will be here.
Where are you grocery shopping?
The grocery store options are Publix, Winn Dixie and Faustos in Key West or Winn Dixie on Big Pine. Fish markets up and down the chain of islands. Island livin!
